Does December bring you feelings of angst or joy? I absolutely LOVE the holidays! I'm that person....
I'm probably annoying to my coworkers and the people that deal with me on a day to day basis. I can't help it though, I love the music, the decorations, the mall, the wrapping, the movies and most of all the COOKIES!
I have to admit, and not in a boastful way, that I'm a really good gift giver! I spend a lot of time digging deep and thinking about the gifts I buy. It could be something that someone mentioned one time or the gifts the never knew they wanted. When it comes to gifts I receive, that's a lot harder. I never know what to ask for. I am blessed to be at a place in life where I can buy just about whatever I want and what I really want can't be purchased. I want my husband and children to be happy. I want them to spend time with me. I want them to know deep in their hearts how much they mean to me. Those things can't be wrapped in a pretty box or placed in a bag but gifts of love can be given.
That's one of the things I love about the holiday season. We set time aside to spend with the people we love the most. We sit down for meals together. We spend time thinking about others and what would make them happy. In a perfect world, we would do this every day. But life is life. We live in busy times. We don't always put others first. But don't beat yourself up. The new year is right around the corner! There is no better time to resolve to do better and be better. Try not to get too wrapped up in the rush of the next few days. Take it all in and enjoy it. Before you know, we will be staring down 2018!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!
